Revoke Question
Imagine a slightly different deal, one where West holds doubleton Jx in diamonds. In this construction: at trick 8, west follows with the diamond jack. Now imagine that west ruffs the diamond continuation and plays a heart to his partner's ace. I hope we can agree that this scenario ...
Revoke Question
Democracy: A system whereby two idiots outvote one genius. some examples of the majority being incorrect might include: polytheism the earth as the center of the universe women's suffrage slavery you are encouraged to add to this list at your leisure I recall a group lesson by Bernie Chazen ...
Revoke Question
In my opinion, no automatic trick adjustment clearly differs from no trick adjustment. This ruling should be one of the exceptions. I continue to vote for two tricks. I hope that the next law changes address this directly
Revoke Question
Given that there are reasonable claims both ways, it seems fair to conclude that the law(s) do not address this well. Given this lack of clarity the ability to win from either side in committee is a useful, if minor, bridge skill.
Revoke Question
I have changed my answer. Once the ace is led -- equity is 3 tricks for each side. If we ignore the first revoke, the second revoke is (in and of itself) a two trick ADJUSTMENT. While there is no automatic penalty for the 2nd revoke in the same suit, this ...
The deal played itself
Win an ace, play ace of hearts East playing the jack. 2nd heart to the 10 (idiot coup) losing to the queen. Heart back making only 4.
What do you think of the director's actions?
One is a sport. The other is life and death.
How should Multi be allowed (if at all) under the Open+ chart?
Different people want to play multi for different reasons. Some of these reasons include stealing candy from children the pros play it they play it in their home country to practice it as an experiment for fun they think it is good bridge there are likely other reasons as well ...
2!c With an Unbalanced Hand
I recall someone (1000+ masterpoints or so) opening a distributional 2. The opponents proceeded to bid and make slam. A 2 opener should show defense as well as offense. It should have at least 2 defensive tricks where AK 8 times counts as zero defense. The opponents should ...
What do you think of the director's actions?
You are clearly correct. I am mistaken. However: what if dummy is the first to draw attention to an irregularity? what if a kibitzer claims a revoke? I wonder if this section of the Laws could use some fine-tuning?
