Provide the most difficult defence
The full deal: .........KQ83 .........754 .........82 .........Q972 A97.............J64 K96.............AQT83 AQJ3............765 AT3.............K8 .........T52 .........J2 .........KT94 .........J654 At the table, North returned a diamond. After that, I could draw three rounds of trumps, finesse once more in diamonds, take ace of diamonds, ace of spades, and re-enter the ...
Provide the most difficult defence
No it does not (but it denies 4 diamonds).
Oh, the pain
But you need to cash spade A before you play clubs; otherwise you cannot ruff a spade.
Oh, the pain
Win heart in hand. Spade to K, and a diamond. When diamond ace is off, and a diamond comes back, ruff low. Heart to hand. If hearts are 4-1, draw trump and finesse spades. If hearts are 3-2, play ace of spades and 3x clubs pitching a spade. Ruff spade ...
Theorical question - how do you play this sequence?
I play the following: Direct bidding over 2D: maintain original meaning and shows diamond stopper (2nt denies Ma) Pass: Denies diamond stopper. Partner can then double 2D to restart stayman. Double: would be suggestion for penalty.
Insufficient bid: legal correction or not?
I am missing an option in the vote: "all sufficient bids are legal". If the 2h bid is done on all hands except superaccept-hands, pass to 2sp should also not impose any constraints on partner; as pass is done on a subset of hands that bids 2H.
The 12th Trick
It won't make newcomers learn quicker.. It will make them quit the game instead..
Defense Challenge
After sp K ducked, Heart K-> Ace, and a heart back to the Ten, east gets caught in a progressive 3-suit squezze, when declarer takes the last club trick. That would give declarer 9 tricks.
