Congrats to Jordan Chodorow—NABC Robot Winner
Very well deserved win for Jordan; he is a great card player and held off a very tough field. Congratulations also to Roger Lee for a good run, as he led the event after day 2 and nearly held on to win it. There were 3,408 participants in this ...
Another Tournament Idea
You need to add the option, "I would definitely not play in something like that".
Andy Caranicas's bidding problem: 74 QJ4 AQT64 KQ7
What is our 1nt opening range? If we play strong nts (14+ to 17), I would have opened this hand 1nt.
Craig Biddle's lead problem: A52 J65 KQT65 63
How is this worth doubling 3, especially at IMPs?
Shiang Chen's bidding problem: 9 KQJ85 A53 A932
Why does 3 promise a GF hand? If you want to play that as one round force, that is fine. Requiring a GF hand to bid a suit when they made a takeout double is not normal.
Steve Rogers's lead problem: KJ95 K8 A92 9632
Why did we double 4nt & 5? We have one likely trick in our hand (A ), our Kx is favorable for the declaring side, partner's jump to 4 did not show defensive value.
Contacting ACBL Customer Service
Mike, you can increase the size of the bulletin as it appears online if you need increased size for your vision. There are multiple ways to do this, but a simple option is to select the "zoom" command near the top left.
I had similar issues in 18 board ACBL daylong yesterday or the day before where I got booted at least 25 times. Unfortunately lost my focus on a couple of hands due to that.
Jack Hawthorne's lead problem: KT --- KQ9763 AQJ97
3 & 4 are the only 2 options with this hand. Unless I was playing with a very undisciplined weak 2 bidder, I would have raised to 4.
Consumer law at work in BBO
When you enter Instant Tournaments (either 8 board BBO OR 12 board ACBL MPs or IMPs), you play hands that are automatically scored against a set of 14 other players that played the hands previously. They set it up so you it is scored like you were in a section ...
