Transfers after 1NT - 2C - 2D?
Invitational smolen with longer hearts is easily handled by transfer to hearts and then interchange the 2s and 2nt bids. This is a complete freebie...gives up nothing. Muppet stayman uses this as well if you want to get used to it.
Free Advice
If leftie is passed or not must always be a factor as well to teach.
what is 2 over 1 over takeout double?
My regular partner and I decided to try this. I suppose it's a slight twist on BROMAD: 1nt 6-9 non-forcing, 2c unbalanced 3-card limit or constructive raise (2d asks), 2d balanced 3-card limit raise, 2M raise pre-empt, 2H (if 1S opener) NF although forcing has merit, 2NT weak J-S ...
Escaping after partner opens a weak NT
But 1ntxx is even better :)
1NT or 1C
Doesn't angling for the spade Moysian risk the long hand getting tapped in hearts?
What does a hesitation suggest here?
Maybe his hand is terrible and he was hesitating to make sure the director would prevent his partner from bidding 3NT? Seriously though, I don't think there is an issue with the hesitation here since partners only possible bids are pass or correct to diamonds.
What does a hesitation suggest here?
That might also apply if Gazzilli is being played i believe.
1NT or 1C
I would rather just shut the opponents out then make a lead-directing bid. why give them a free 1h lead-directing overcall? Side note after reading other comments: I do not consider this hand quite good enough to open 1c and jump to 2nt (sort of implied when I voted against ...
Current Count when playing UDCA
Where does this "return the original 4th down" thing come from? I have a partner that plays it but I have always played standard present count in those situations and can't find a reference. I'm guessing it might be a holdover from the Goren era or something? LOL.
2c over major as limit raise or GF with clubs
We are already playing semi-forcing but the 3-card limit hands were a problem. 1s p 2h GF is also a bit of a problem and maybe should not be GF. I'll have to get the book. thanks.
