1z rebid by opener after 1y response by passed hand.
Most of us are familiar with a semi-forcing 1NT response to a 1M opening. Why not use the semi-forcing description to describe the 1Z bid?
Alan Shillitoe's bidding problem: 643 QT2 AT8542 J
I thought that a Q bid here above game level should be a 1st round control.
Kevin O'Dea's bidding problem: T62 A6 AKJ6 A875
Well spotted Merijn. Partner did hold the stiff Q and AKQxxx. 6 was cold but I passed 4 at the table.
Kevin O'Dea's bidding problem: A7 A8 KQJ7 KJ982
Yes, partner will bypass and bid a 4 card Major with a weakish hand
but partner, I only had 2 points, and one of them was worthless!
The above hands are rich in Controls and lacking Queens & Jacks. I would not consider them average hands for a 1NT opening

2NT Lebensohl?
Kevin O'Dea's bidding problem: T62 A6 AKJ6 A875
Unfortunately, North-South were not playing either Serious or non-serious 3NT. If they were playing non-serious 3NT, North would have bid 3NT
Opening 1N with a singleton Ace
Usually I open 1NT with a singleton honour when I will have a rebid problem. Here, with a 15 count and no rebid problems, I am happy to open 1
Petter Bengtsson's bidding problem: A7632 J642 A QJT
I must be missing something here, since a 60% voted for 3NT. Why not 3?
Control-Showing Responses to Strong 2!c Openings: General Thoughts?
Ed. Is 2 "waiting" a relay (I often hear it referred to as such)?
