about me

Originally from England - I don't have time to play very much these days except for the odd Regional/National.  I played representative bridge in England, but I am not even a LM in the US - which makes me a ringer in Handicap events :) - however I am an ACBL teacher and have won many ribbon entries.

Country
United States of America

David Boxley's bidding problem: 864 KQJT93 K875 ---
Because a pre-empt is limited but a one level opening is much wider range.
Kevin Jones's bidding problem: J7 865 Q Q876432
43 votes for pass and everyone going down. There has to be a reason a top quality West player preempts on what is known to be a bad suit - he has a side void. Partner has AJ6 and although the K is onside, he is missing K109 so try as ...
Neil Silverman's bidding problem: K9x --- AJTxxxxx xx
Call me aggressive but 800 looks the max we can go down, and that's only -5 against their 4S or even a potential double game swing for us when they have majors and we have minors. Also - it really upsets 2 openers when they have to bid at ...
Sathya Bettadapura's bidding problem: A75 AK854 AQ2 42
Opening leader has a 33% shot at that anyway (and the better the field, the more I find that opponents tend to find the best lead - so with 5 I have removed all the bad slam options here - this is a forum which shows good bridge options - not lucky ...
Dick Wilson's bidding problem: x AQxx QJxx KTxx
2 - though of course my ox will bid 2 and I will then hit 2NT... anything other than 2 from partner and my hand starts to get way better.
Jakob Prii's bidding problem: AT Q83 QT963 QT4
That -590 is also an acceptable score to take back to your teammates? :)
Hanoi Rondón's bidding problem: KQT 7xxx AK8xx x
I'm with Eric. They have more of a problem than I do...
Robert Schachter's bidding problem: A763 AK8 JT54 Q3
In my youth, I double expectantly. Nowadays I pass hopefully.
Sathya Bettadapura's bidding problem: A75 AK854 AQ2 42
When I do the opponents have a cashing AK. The fashion these days is to pre-empt to the max on any old crap, and I admit I'd be less than happy if p did NOT have a club piece for 4S given that (s)he is missing the ...
Sathya Bettadapura's bidding problem: A75 AK854 AQ2 42
5 "Look P - I don't have a club control".
