I think she is saying the ones who want will keep their fees but don't overcharge the casual players.
Maybe a rule ACBL members only at regional or higher events.

the answer is easy play social bridge same thing 24 boards duplicate bridge
I have no clue where you live but if it is a major size l bet l can find a social game.
Why pay $16.50 for something I can do any other day for probably $8?

I do not see the value or reason for masterpoints?
New players get more reward out of doing well each week than a .23 beside their name.
I think hook them on the game.
Other point I tell them take their time before joining ACBL there is no hurry you can play at club until you decide about masterpoints/tournaments and ACBL.

No not really but stupidity seems to make matters worse for ACBL
we convert our money for fees for clubs membership and tournaments to US dollars
ACBL is so smart they convert back funds to send back for any reason they can think of.
Seems Canada going on there own is becoming more attractive for both us and the ACBL
The new tax rules and working rules in Canada isn't helping Acbl seems to be scrambling to find directors here in Canada
Sarnia is 15 minutes from US border of Michigan we always used directors from Detroit 45 mins away or some who lived even closer but now they can't get paper work to come here and direct so we bring in people from 3 hours away.
Ask ACBL how much work was involved getting directors cleared for last NABC in Toronto doubt we get many more.

Disagree
Regionals always attract more than sectionals
And always an excuse when attendance drops like oh another tournament

David acbl is in trouble needs players latgest pool of players to draw from is social players they already play and can be converted easier than making new players
Sadly ACBL ignore them rather than trying to embrace them

Know how many tables of unsanctioned bridge there was in golden horseshoe today? Willing to bet 5 times sanctioned.

My point was if it was more affordable for social players the more you add the cheaper you can make it for ACBL members.
Social players may be talked into giving you $12,50 but never $16.50

Sorry you misunderstood or I mis wrote l wanted the social players to join with acbl players and play same time together
just I realize reality no social player is going to pay $16.50 for a session of bridge anywhere!

social players don't care if game sanctioned or not your regular ACBL players do so you need to keep all happy if you are going to mix the 2
