Mike would also score a 0 not divided by another 0 at a calculus 101 test by thusly describing the rule ;-})

1y-1N-P-3N is so uninformative thereby leaving the opp on lead in the dark whether to lead the partner's suit or something else. Second, the idea that 1-1N is NF and may include Michaels doesn't sit well with me. Is there a bid for a big two suiter at all?

I would expect proposing a new, bold approach to include cost-benefit analysis rather than solely how cool is to bid some types of hands.

Was I obliged to bid 3 with Kxx,KQxxx, xxx,xx when I mistakenly passed 3?

You must be playing an overcall style I would likely find unexpected. Addendum: both Ambrose and Steve

Puppet and Smolen are compatible, with the following answers to 3: 3N=5, 3=No M or 5, and 3/=4

Upon a thorough consideration, my best guess is 5 or any bid at the five or higher level by your opponents should be successful to your side provided your X would be for penalties rather than take out. Seriously, you can't play that 2 followed by a new suit could be anything but natural and forcing if the jump to 3Y is fit showing.

Also, bidding 3 now implies a decent hand since I didn't bid the cheapest minor first time

As my final comment, I try a baby psyche after 2 opening or presumed such opening whenever I think my opps are located in the less sophisticated expert territory

I don't think we agree what price discrimination is

If I could describe the organization of my thoughts for some class of problems in some concrete way, that means I'm not fluent in that class of problems. Perhaps trying to anchor your thoughts when you learn something is useful, but once you learn that well, that anchoring disappears. For instance, describe the ‘shapes’ of your thoughts when you drive a car.

In the first case partner super-accepts clubs with values if I sit opposite a bridge player. Do I have enough for 5? I think I'm obliged take it as love for clubs in the second case too.

Interesting how invoking the social context may prompt this quantity of comments about a trivial bidding problem. It was worthwhile though to get here since we have a comment above of someone who thinks that a pass with this hand is reasonable

I prefer 2N over 2 while a pass of 3N with this hand is worth a bidding problem
