I'd rather open KQ432,A432,432,2 but not this hand. Addendum: apparently with 432,2,AKxxx,AQxx my Polish blood calls for 2

You were lucky. Whenever I (rarely) played one on one in 55%, the opp with 0% would drop out, and the best I could do was recover my bloody $1 since BBO wouldn't acknowledge my win.

Too dangerous. It's safer to write 4+ to 17

Another argument for taking high risk/high reward option is your reputation - if the weak to so-so players know that you are a tough guy they may select an option easy for you when in fact their best play is putting you to a guess

See, BBO used to have a single day-long tourney. At some time I was interested to know how to play bots, and I contacted BBO about why there was just a single one such tourney since they had been so popular. I believe I should be receiving royalties from BBO given the proliferation of daylongs while I don't play then anymore since by now I know how to play bots. If you think you have a great marketing idea, contact BBO about worst hand, middle hand and so on bot tourneys and see if it catches any interest. I doubt it will, even if they try to run them. As I mentioned above, a more surprising trait of best hand tourneys is that the majority of humans still don't know how to make inferences from the best hand feature.

Perhaps you try to be like Ian Grant who in multiple posts proposes things which have zero chance of having any appearance in the Universe but catch remarks of our witty guys like David Burn, Richard Fleet et al. If you believe in what you preach, try to contact the money.

I can't say my 1 can't be disputed, but I don't get being in such a small minority

It's still worth investigating whether just 2 bid hedged against a mixed Michaels-Clubs 2. Doubt here goes against NS.

I'm sure that every world-class player will find a duck if given this hand as a problem

Interestingly, I still score at least 75% on average for opening flat 11 counts with 33 in majors

I'm not getting why East was announced to have a difficult lead having a doubleton in any suit. Anyway, my spade suits as East don't grow on trees and I doubt the contract and or defense would be the same at my table.

What do you want to bid with J8xx,Qxxx,Qxxx,x?

Kieran, you are wrong here. 1m-1M has an expected meaning, but if a bid has no expected meaning at all, it should be flagged in any way no matter if it's an alert or a magenta bidding card

I played with a partner who demanded that after transfer to M, subsequent 2N be GF. That left 1N-2/2-2M as invitational with 5= in M, with or without other 4= M. I'd alert that bid, and since we mostly played against club-like competition, it apparently created endless confusion, which is besides the point but I still think that 2M should be alerted no matter what it is.

Not to mention that opening and rebidding one no trump must involve insufficient bid, even 30 years ago
