I'm surprised about the number of passes. Cant imagine a Hand where wie will go down at the 5 level, if pd has a nonminimum. So i will bid 5 , laying emphasis on my club weakness.

Afger (1m) pass 1 ): 1NT = 54+ in om/

i dont like the hand offensively, but i have 3 card support. As we play transfers after X i would bid 2 showing a good raise to 2, which is what the hand is worth.

Sorry, but i dont agree with that. It´s nearly ridiculous to go 4 down in 3 X in board 25 and allowing -140 in 2 in board 27 seems extremely strange too….Going 2 down in 4 in Board 28 requests rather extreme compression play and doesnt look normal either. (unimaginative play will lose a spade, a heart and 2 clubs)

When these plays take place against countrymen of the eventual winners and moreover in succession, you cant help but feeling robbed. I wonder why there was no investigation…..

I play that 3 is an INV+ Transfer with spades and this is what i want to bid. Obviously the hand should be played by partner…..

If you play standard Lebensohl without ELC you cant X with this hand, as you can envision severe problems when pd has a weak hand without a long suit. In this case you have to bid 3 or pass

Well, i didnt expect to buy it with 4, did I? Therefore i would have bid 5 last round, then after 5 , 5 is possible.

i wouldnt have redoubled and i wouldnt have bid 2NT (->pass). 2 by partner showed a MIN, pass would have shown a normal opening bid

xxx, x, Kxxxx, xxxx offers good chances for 10 tricks. And even xxx, x, xxxxx, xxxx might be enough if spades are 2-2…So i wont bid 2 or 3 ;-)

Good question being VUL against NVUL. Against good opps it is probably wise to pass. Otherwise playing pairs you might get away with 2NT followed by 3.

A good hand for good bad 2 NT. If that is agreed one can bid 2NT as a marionette to 3 showing a competitve and distributional hand. Here i would bid 3 next obviously.
A direct 3 would be strong and inviting game.

For me the North hand is an automatic opening bid. Wouldnt even think about passing. Playing pairs 3 isnt so hot, just protect your +-score by passing. Even if 4 makes, facing a perfect MAX, only 10% of the field will bid it.
