I paid to watch the movie on Amazon Video and the streaming quality was good. If you enjoy bridge I'd encourage you to watch the movie. I'll be honest that I enjoyed watching them come to the realization that they were not going to “crush this game” after studying for a year. The ups and downs that they display with the agony of defeat and rush of victory have been felt by all bridge players.

Abstain. 3NT over 3 and I've clarified my hand type as it should show a likely penalty pass. Now I think I have shown a cue in support of spades. Ugh. Could go very badly. 4.

Welcome to Bridgewinners! I really enjoyed your film. I think that the more eyeballs we get on the activity the more new players we'l have a chance to capture. Many people compare bridge to traditional gaming, but your film seemed to show your gaming group as unlikely to continue to play the game. Where do you think bridge players should focus their energy and resources in finding new players for the game? I know you have continued to play. What are your bridge plans in the future? How about your former teammates?

After 1-1-1NT-2-2-2 won't opener bid 2NT with a singleton spade and a minimum? In that case can't your example hand bid 3 to play?

Just for fun, think of conduct that is not banned by law in Colorado but does violate federal criminal laws. These were of the top of my head.

Private ownership of a nuclear weapon.
Launching a private rocket to the moon.
Espionage and Spying.
Smoking Marijuana.

Any more?

I really enjoyed the documentary. I think it did a good job of capturing the competitive nature of duplicate bridge. I think even a non-player could feel the agony and ecstasy of defeat at the card table.

I felt they undersold the ACBL and the game of bridge. Say what you want about the ACBL, it is the largest mindsport organization of the traditional games and the tournaments are well attended compared to many other mindsports.

The hubris of four people thinking they could study for a year and then crush the game is laughable. No one in their right mind would think that of chess or go. I wanted to add that after perusing results in live.acbl it seems that three of the four players have continued to play, including recent sectionals and the Las Vegas NABC. Stefanie has not played in 2019.

While I'm not going to use canabis, I generally don't worry about other people doing so. I don't think I'd appreciate partner doing it without clearing it with me. I care about the events I play and generally expect partner to be at their best.

I'd like the double better if partner wasn't a passed hand.

I like District 14 and enjoy its regionals. I appreciate the work of all its volunteers but when I choose which regionals to attend, I am going to choose the ones with the most tables. I feel a little guilty attending the Denver regional instead of the Minneapolis one but Denver has better attendance and a nicer hotel. This year Denver 1786 tables, Minneapolis 1111 tables.

I play here that the 3 by responder denies 4 and 3. It also welcomes a raise, so its not some minimum hand 2326. These minimums sometimes get forced into 2NT.

Knowing all this I think your partner should either key card over 3 or raise 3 to 4, not bid 3 which I think should show 5 or be a grope for 3NT.

On the actual auction you had, 4 sounds like more clubs to me, and 4 like a cue for clubs interested in slam. I don't think you can actually have diamonds or you would have bid the diamond suit over 2.

Finally, we play that 5 over 3nt is super Gerber. Sometimes you need an ace asking bid.

What are your ace asking agreements in a minor? If you play kick back or redwood, perhaps 4 by you over 3NT is rkc for clubs.

Driving home from a sectional in Omaha, Nebraska at about midnight I pulled up to a fairly busy intersection at a red light. The light turned green and I started to go but noticed the car on my left hadn't moved, so I hit my breaks thinking I'd looked at the light wrong. I looked up and the light was green. Odd. As I got ready to go again, an old suv flew through the intersection at 60 miles an hour. Had my left lane friend not been there, I'd be dead.

I always look both ways now before I go when the light turns green .

I put a heart in with my diamonds and choose what I hope is the less encouraging 4-card red suit.

I wanted to try to make a joke about how this was flag worthy but it is so sad that I gave up. We spend over four trillion a year. One trillion more than we have in revenue and we owe 22 trillion. Madness. Madness.

I probably open this 1 in third. My partner rarely has enough for game as a precision passed hand. If we do have game, I think it will take a good heart fit which may be easier to find after I open 1 than if I open 1.

We had two tables and I think everyone had a good time. If you'd be interested in participating in a set team game in the future, PM me and I'll email you when we are setting up our next one.
