Kevin, I’m sitting here waiting for some Christmas presents to be wrapped at Scarpa, a women’s boutique here in Charlottesville, Va. I started laughing out loud when I read the bit about charging for the extraordinary services and got to share the reason for my laughter with a fellow customer. Thank you, echoing Roy and Sabine before me!

Thanks to Bart for allowing us to share this story from our pre-interview and Phil Clayton for suggesting Bart as a guest.

Dani,

I would like to purchase a copy of your book. Where might I do so?

Well played!

I can't believe I am only just liking this now. Thanks Phil for the insights into how you approach a partnership.

What kind of fundamental principles are you talking about? Are they the same across partnerships? Ever since I started hiring I have yet to be in a “balanced” partnership.

Thanks to everyone who liked the Instgram post. A number of helpful conversations have resulted from friends having seen the post. I did hear back from Marc Randolph the Netflix founder and much to my disappointment he told me that he could not help.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in.

Jack Nicklaus spoke about playing bridge with Arnold Palmer on two separate occasions right after Arnold died. As I am also a golfer, Jack is a dream guest.

And what did he say for favorite convention, since I am giving him grief for one way new minor?

After listening to the episode a second time I found so many follow up questions I could have asked, one of them being, Watson's play of the Hand, have you read the whole book, more than once, what appealed to you about the book?

In the comment section on iTunes someone once commented something to the effect of "is the show about the host or the guest' :( That was an eye opener for sure.

I am currently participating in a Conscious Leadership Forum and last time we met we did a listening exercise where we exaggerated two different types of listening filters. One making everything the other person says about me and two, listening to fix. I was more than proficient at accentuating these two filters but when it came time to listen from presence, I found myself raising my hand and asking the woman who runs our forum for help because I literally did not understand how to practice it!

This happened in the week before I interviewed James so I was super conscious of not wanting to make my follow ups about me and it left me speechless!

I don't even know how to play regular new minor forcing. I don't know what's forcing after the new minor. It seems to me that 2 way is infinitely easier.

James is the first bridge player whom I met in the process of asking him to be on the show, via email. As a chronic half-@$$er I was intimidated by his comment in the Bridge Bulletin article where he said “I never half-ass anything.”

All this time having the podcast, I had never before used my John @ thesettingtrick.com email before, but with James, I thought I sure better email him, introducing myself and the show, from said email address. So James definitely helped me level up in that way.

So is it from two person bridge or whist instead of a four person game?

Ken, “y'all” is a form of greeting we have here in Virginia well described by Craig.

I am taking an Instagram and Facebook diet during the week until 5 pm Friday. If anyone would like to post on their social media in pursuit of this initiative I would be happy to speak with you about whatever type of media would best intrigue your followers.

As of right now, as far as I know, no one at Netflix even knows our movie exists. My goal is to change that by getting 10,000,000 likes on this https://www.instagram.com/p/B3lVPC0F17Z/
Instagram post.

Unlike my previous forays into publicity, this merely requires a two clicks, one to click on the link and the next to like it. 10000% easier than hosting a Tugg screening at a movie theater. I figure if we can generate 1,000,000 likes by Wednesday Netflix will have taken notice. Please do your part!
