I'm not sure what it is but it ain't hearts, which would be double. I'm guessing it is asking for a diamond stop. If it's something else partner will tell me in a second. If partner had a diamond stop he would depend on me to stop hearts and just bid NT.

3 is just competitive, too many other ways to force to game. With an invitational hand you just have to make a decision, you can't have everything.

Very few things in this universe exist in your universe :) But I agree.

Not enough information, what do I know from the 1 bid? Does it deny a four card major unless GF? If so, it would imply a 5 card diamond suit and I would raise. Is it up-the-line? Then I would pass.

3 is strictly competitive so pass is indicated, especially after the tank. With a GF hand partner has to find another bid. 3 now would not be a re-transfer but would be a forcing 55+.

What would partner do now with 2533 10 count? Not saying I don't like the bid, just not sure of the follow-ups.

Pass, maybe partner will bid 4 or 4. If he does, I will keycard (whatever that is) and right-side at the level we can play. If he punts with 3 I'm bidding 3NT. Over 4, 4NT. I'm too good to bid 3NT right now.

The difference is that responder's 2 bid doesn't show invitational, or any, values. You have chosen to play a convention which doesn't include an invitational minor suit bid. I personally would bid 3NT with responder's hand.

That's pretty much an auto 4 bid by opener.

I play pass is takeout, so double. Shows a balanced hand but not a stack.

Wow! Fishbein? Back in my younger days I was told that only fish play it and every time it comes up, they get in a bind. :)

At last, a forcing pass situation which no one would disagree with.

Sure it can, Greg, but that is not the point. The problem is how to get to the right contract, no matter what it happens to be.

4. I was too good for 1 and partner's raise, even in comp, shows a good hand as I might be broke with 3 spades. This might even make a slam but I'm not getting into one of THOSE auctions.
