Maybe I'm being influenced by the quality of my s. Maybe partner is trying to sign off in 5NT. Good “at the table” problem.

I probably would have bid 4 over 3. It's hard not to get excited holding 3 bullets.

So maybe partner expects me to make another call if I have 3? I just can't come up with a hand for partner that makes this auction plausible. I'll just do what my wife accuses one of her partners of doing, if I don't understand my partner's bid I just pass.:) They never do it to me again…

It's ok to consume bidding space when it describes your hand. The 2 bid made this a very good hand since all of your cards are working and your suits are good. I do play that 2 shows 6 but I'm much too good to rebid 2NT.

I'm not sure what partner has but he has decided to play 5. We must be missing 2 KCs. I don't care much for the auction either. I'm sure he will explain it all to me later.

Then I should abstain I guess. Any time a problem looks that easy there must be a catch.

I would have bid 2 at my first turn but can't bid less than 4 now.

Won't responder show s after a 2NT rebid? I don't see any reason to rebid 2 (which should show at least 4-5 in the reds) with this hand. Of course I don't have any idea what BWS is now days.

Looks too good for 3 and if I make a resp dbl what will I do over 4?

Is 2 GF? Please let us know what system is being used in the future. At 2/1 it is a clear 3D bid.

Are the 3 bidders cue bidding?

Partner already knows I have at least 5. I would play this as strictly an attitude situation. With the dummy given below I would play the 9 for the obvious shift.

If I were playing that 3 showed 6+ s and a not very good hand then I would bid it but most people (I think) play it as 55+ GF. I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong.
