I assume you mean if partner responds 2 to stayman. In that case you just choose between signoff and GF, obviously not perfect. I think there is a greater frequency of bad hands than invitational hands.

I would prefer that my partner did not compete in diamonds.

'This double is 13+ but NOT an overcall structure “power” double.' For this ignorant American, what does that mean?

It was a rhetorical question/comment. I obviously know why you play it that way, I just don't happen to agree.

I pass, but have always wondered why people play that 1NT - 2C - 2D - 2S is a mild game try rather than to play. Myself, I prefer playing a 44 heart fit to a 52 spade fit.

With this hand bid 4 last train over 4, promising a spade control. 4 would deny a spade control.

Gregory, I see your point but again, it depends on what kind of diamonds you expect from the 2 bid. Anyway, don't you think you might ask for keycards?

Richard, I will take your word for the declarer play since I have no experience although it's hard to see how since they can't take any inferences from the opponents bidding or lack of it.

Set trumps first… 4 should show more slam interest than 5.

I don't think 3 is even forcing, 3 is the only GF bid I have available.

4, which partner should pull without a 5 card spade suit.
