It's not letting me edit it for some reason, but format is 24 board KO.

“The facts are very clear even if not published and no formal hearing has been held. Two pro teams in contention accidentally sat in the wrong direction at both tables. Instead of reporting to the TD what actually happened, it was reported as a tie. The TD discovered what happened and both teams had their VPs for that match adjusted from 10 (a tie) to 0 (as per ACBL rules). Charges have been laid against all the team members. It is a very open secret. Denver Memorial Day Regional, final Sunday, Pikes Peak A/X Swiss Teams. The teams that ultimately finished 2nd and 5th overall.

A hearing scheduled for Washington has been postponed to Orlando at the request of one or both teams involved.

Since there were ten players involved, and clearly two who did not play the match in question, it must be determined which players, if not all, were aware of what happened. There are also loud whispers that a made up score card was prepared!

Exactly who did what and who knew what and when is for the committee to determine.”

Where in here does he claim to know exactly who did what and when they did it? Hint: he doesn't. How many times does this need to be copied, pasted, and repeated? All Jonathan has repeatedly stated are the basic facts of what happened and he has consistently done so without using any names until the names were made public by the ACBL via their decisions. I'm wondering why only he needs to cite how he can confirm this knowledge when multiple other people stated the exact same thing in those other threads?

Now, would it be nice to have more details given to us by someone other than a lawyer? Do I also want to know exactly who said and did what and when they said and did those things? Obviously. GFL with that (sad to say) because as we all know the ACBL loves to have a cone of silence, especially on maters like this one.

Since I'm a member of one of those five pairs and not a senior I can tell you for a FACT that there were only four drop ins.

There were only four drop-ins. Also, it was Hurd and Joe Grue who won the event last year.

North could also be 1-5-(4-3) theoretically, but he may be more inclined to bid 3m with that hand.

A bit of both to be honest, but he was motioning as his partner was putting down his pass card. I am normally faster than that in these situations though, I promise :)

The gesture was after the final pass of 3NT by North.

I didn't fail to alert for the record, my partner did lol. But that “fear in declarer” sense was what I was worried about in terms of calling the director too soon.

As it happened, South had Qx of diamonds, and North had AKxxxx. Sadly for them, North led the Ace, and I was now cold.

He did not ask verbally. He simply motioned towards the bid before I had the opportunity to correct the misinformation.

That is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. Is this an exception to the normal rule because of the purported UI.

Might that not “wake up” an otherwise oblivious N to the UI you think may be suggested?

South never verbally asked anything. All he did was motion towards the bid and look at me (West). Nothing was said until I said that my partner had failed to alert.

I wasn't clear… the UI I was referring to was South motioning towards the 2NT bid which he knew should've been alerted. My apologies.

That might be the funniest thing I've ever read on this website!

Who said it'd be the gold points that were the ones taken away? Why not just have it be the black points they earn at clubs, which are the real lifeblood of the ACBL community? I believe that was part of what Adam was suggesting when he mentioned safety nets because nobody can make a person play bridge at an “expensive” regional, but the threat of losing black points would almost certainly ensure all of the new life masters would continue playing at the club so that they could always call themselves life masters.

And I do in fact know a number of local players who have quit playing because they “won the game” so to speak by making life master, and that's all there was in it for them. Adam's idea would keep them around if properly used.
