What is your opinion about skipping 1 after partner opened 1?

You play 2/1, 1 is 2+, 2 only when 4432, 2wcb later. You hold 4+ diamonds and your partner opened 1, when would you prefer to bid 1? I am conscious that answers I provided do not cover all the options but please pick the closest one or explain in comment.

I would basically like to conclude if people rather skip diamonds when they intend on playing NT and also let stronger hand declare NT.

I would always bid 1 but prefer partner to bid 1NT if s/he has balanced hand with major.
I would always bid 1 and I would prefer partner to show his/her major always instead of bidding 1NT.
I would bid 1 only if I am at least invitational and I would prefer partner to bid 1NT with balanced hand and major.
I would bid 1 only if I am at least invitational and I would prefer partner to bid 1M with balanced hand and major.
I would always skip 1 with 4/5 cards unless I have no major to bid.
I would always skip 1 with 4/5 cards.
I play some kind of walsh and I would always skip 1 when waek in the first round so I can bid it in the second.
