Weirdest Bid

So I'm playing Tuesday on a game I usually don't play in. A friend of mine is trying reach Life Master status. We actually had a Life Master party for him over a year ago. However the person who talked him into joining the ACBL "before the new higher point totals go into effect" did not send his entry in until after the higher point totals went into effect.

The Gulf Coast Regional took place last week. He need 6.80 Gold, I played with him one day and he got 6.11 Gold. Still 0.69 short. That will have to wait till the next Regional.

However he also needed 2.02 Silver. And this is STAC (Sectional Tournament at the Club) week. He played Monday with a very good player and gets 1.86 Silver. Still needs 0.16 Silver. So I agree to play with him Tuesday in Gulf Shores.

It was interesting.  It always is playing with him. No one can ever accuse him of overthinking the hands. He goes with his first impulse. We are nearing the end. I estimate that two averages and he will have his Silver. That brings us to the auction that inspired the title of the article.

I had no idea what to do. I shrugged and passed. Not even going to show his hand.

WHAT IS THE WEIRDEST BID YOUR PARTNER HAS EVER THROWN AT YOU?

P.s., he still needs 0.16 Silver.
