This is based on a recent actual deal from the Schapiro Spring Foursomes. It is presented here as an illustration of a BOLS Bridge Tip by the great Billy Eisenberg, which may be paraphrased as "If you can't succeed by doing something sensible, try doing something stupid".

Here, you can't beat the hand by playing 10 on South's 3 at trick two. So, try playing the king. Of course, you still can't beat the hand but you probably will, as long as you shift to diamonds when in with J.
