I know this site has a limited number of users that participate at OKBridge, but I wanted to attempt to get some feedback from that specific group.

In the past several months, there has been an obvious concerted effort by the directors on OKBridge to speed up the games. They have succeeded by knocking off 10-14 minutes off a typical 12 board tourney. I have no objection to faster online play. There are easy ways to achieve this: fewer pleasantries, skipped postmortems of the previous hands and minimizing inattentiveness. My concern is the cost of this accelerated approach. The number of pairs that completes the 12 boards of a tourney has plummeted. If my memory serves, in years past, most of the pairs would complete 12 boards in 68-70 minutes. In recent tourneys, only 23/61, 28/88 and 38/92 completed 12 boards in rounds that finish in under 60 minutes. If a pair has a sit out, it is not so easy to even complete 9 boards. I have addressed this issue directly with OKBridge, but no reply was offered.

My question is this:

Do you agree that there is a place for online 12 board tourneys that last 65-70 minutes?

Thank you.

I play on OKB and I prefer the faster format.
I play on OKB, I would prefer 65-70 minutes for 12 boards.
I do not play on OKB and I prefer the faster format.
