Looking for an old Bridge World Editorial/Article

This one requires a bit of community research:

10 years ago (October 2009), before BridgeWinners existed, there was a discussion on the now (almost obsolete) usenet group on the Avarelli pass of 3 (-/AQxxxxx/xxxx/xx after 3-x). Somewhere in the discussion, it was pointed out that Jeff Rubens had written in the late 1960's that the Italian style of take-out doubles with both "regular" and off-shape hands was costing them net points. I'm not sure if this was an article or editorial either.

Now, the person who wrote this (or at least his email) is long gone and I'm pretty sure that the editorial isn't in my archive of Bridge Worlds.

Does anybody have any pointers to this?
