I'm guessing most of BW readers will be broadly familiar with the intrafinesse, a combination of finessing and pinning to pick up vulnerable doubletons and creating bricks with very little straw.

I'm sure this isn't a record (maybe some reader with more time than me can find the minimum position for creating an extra trick) but Monday's Common game features this deal.

Against 3NT the defenders led a spade to the ace and a second spade. Now I tried the diamond five and ran it, won the top club return in hand and tried a diamond to the Q, and ace. when a top club came back I ducked and now South fell from grace by playing a heart not a diamond to give me my ninth trick painlessly.

This is the first time i've seen an intrafinesse position where I don't think the defenders can confuse the position by following with the top of the doubleton at their first turn.
